Using the app
RowCraft languages
RowCraft is available in four languages:
| Language | Jira language setting |
|---|---|
| English | English, and every language not listed below |
| Simplified Chinese (简体中文) | Chinese (Simplified) |
| German (Deutsch) | German |
| Japanese (日本語) | Japanese |
How the language is chosen
RowCraft follows each person's Jira language (Personal settings → Language). There is nothing to set up in the app. Two people can look at the same table in different languages at the same time.
- Every RowCraft page and message follows the language: the editor, the read-only view, the column designer, the admin pages, the search helper, reports, the change history, and the validation messages Jira shows when a table cannot be saved.
- Jira languages that RowCraft does not offer, including Traditional Chinese, show RowCraft in English.
What does not change with the language
- Your data. Column names, options and cell values are shown exactly as they were entered. Write them in the language your team uses.
- Templates create column names and options in the language of the administrator who applies them. An administrator using Jira in Chinese gets Chinese column names; they can be renamed at any time.
- Number formats follow the language for display: English shows 1,234.56, German 1.234,56. Copying, Excel and CSV exports always use machine-readable numbers, and dates are always YYYY-MM-DD.
- JQL keywords, function names,
Total,RowCountand the statisticsSUM,AVG,MIN,MAXandCOUNTare always written in English. Column names in JQL are the names of your columns, in any language.
